China City Statistical Yearbook is an annual statistical publication.China City Statistical Yearbook 2021 reflects comprehensively the economic and social development of Cities in China.It covers the main socio-economic statistical data of cities at all levels for 2020,the data comes from the relevant departments of each city. The Yearbook contains four parts:Part Ⅰ is the administrative division of all cities,listing city distribution by region and level;Part Ⅱ and Part Ⅲ are the statistical data of cities at prefecture level and above,and county-level respectively on population,resources and environment,economy development,scientific and technological innovation,people’s livelihood,public service,infrastructure;Part Ⅳ is appendix of explanatory notes on main statistical indicators.It is necessary to point out that cities at prefecture level and above and county-level have used different indicator systems of statistics since 1997,and some indicators in two categories of cities are not comparable.So the data of cities at prefecture level and above and the data of cities at county-level are divided into two independent parts in the yearbook.In addition,according to the relevant regulations of data release,after consulting the relevant departments,we stopped publishing some indicators,such as”number of patent applications”,”persons Employed in urban units according to three strata of industry and sector in detail”,and suspended some indicators,such as “household registered” and”R&D internal expenditure”,and adjusted some indicators and indicators. The national data in this yearbook do not include those of Hong Kong Special Administrative Region,Macao Special Administrative Region and Taiwan Province.”Total City” listed in the data refers to all administrative regions of the city,including the city districts,counties and the city at lower level;”Districts under City” includes all the city districts,not including counties and the city at lower level.The blank forms in the tables in this yearbook indicates that relevant statistical data are unknown or not available. The Yearbook is compiled for the users working in government departments,city planning departments,institutes of urban socio-economic research,municipal construction and real estateagencies,intermediary services,information consulting agencies and other so on,and it is an important reference book for college teachers and students,businessmen,overseas investors as well as users paying close attention to the development of Chinese cities. Ⅰ.China Population and Employment Statistics Yearbook 2021 is an annual statistical publication,which contains data on basic condition of population and employment in 2020 as well as for the previous years for the whole nation and 31 provinces,autonomous regions and municipalities directly under the Central Government.It also includes the relevant data of some other countries and territories in the world. Ⅱ.The yearbook is compiled by the Department of Population and Employment Statistics of the National Bureau of Statistics of China,and assisted by the Public Order Bureau of the Ministry of Public Security. Ⅲ.The yearbook contains the following seven chapters:1.General Survey;2.Data from 2020 Population Census;3.Main Data from 2020 Labor Force Survey;4.Data from Statistics on Employment in Urban Units in 2020;5.Data from Household Registration in 2020;6.Population and Employment Data of Selected Countries and Territories of the World;7.Explanatory Notes on Main Statistical Indicators. Ⅳ.The population data of Chapter Two in the yearbook are from 2020 Population Census,and those of Chapter Five are from the household registration,which use different definitions and data collection methods.Users should notice that the data under the same or similar heading in these two chapters may be different. Ⅴ.The national data in the yearbook do not include that of Hong Kong Special Administrative Region,Macao Special Administrative Region and Taiwan. The Educational Statistics Yearbook of China(2020)is an informational yearbook comprehensively reflecting the development of the educational undertaking of the People’s Republic of China,and it was compiled by the Department of Development and Planning of Chinese Ministry of Education,based on the synthetic statistical returns relating to schools of various types and levels completed by the Provincial Education Department(or the Educational Commissions)of the provincial governments and the governments of various autonomous regions and municipalities directly under the State Council.All data were processed and calculated using Computers by the Educational Management Information Center of Ministry of Education. This yearbook is composed of following parts:summary tables,higher education,secondary education,primary education,special education,preprimary education,geographical distribution of schools by type and level,Physical Facilities,Scientific Research Activities,etc. The yearbook is a requisite reference for all departments concerned with the study of educational reform and development,and provides indispensable factual information to the educational community(circles),the state organs,and all supervisory bodies of education(schools)engaged in curricular development and the guidance of educational reform The national statistics covered in this yearbook do not include data from the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region,the Macao Special Administrative Region,and Taiwan Region.In accordance with the principles set down in the Basic Law of Hong Kong Special Administrative Region,and the Basic Law of Macao Special Administrative Region,statistically Hong Kong,Macao and the mainland of China are three mutually independent regions,each following its own and different statistical systems and legal provisions in conducting statistical operations independently.The data of Skilled Workers Schools is provided by the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security of the People’s Republic of China.All data,without specific notes,were collected in 2020. Ⅰ.2021 China Price Statistical Yearbook is a professional annual statistics publication,which covers very comprehensive data in 2020 of price indices. Ⅱ.Data on price indices in this book include mainly producer price indices for industrial products,purchasing price indices for industrial producers,consumer price indices,retail price indices,price indices for means of agricultural production,housing price index,showing the changing trends and the change rates in the prices of production,trade,consumption. Ⅲ.In 2020 the National Bureau of Statistics cancelled the “Price Index for Investment in Fixed Assets statistical reporting system”and no longer compile corresponding price index Since 2021 the price index for investment in fixed assets will no longer be published. Ⅳ.Compilation of statistics on price indices is organized by the Department of Urban Social and Economic Survey,NBS.At levels of National Bureau of investigation team and relevant statistics in stitutions collect data in accordance with the scheme of price survey system,tabulate them and report them. Ⅰ.Background and Purpose Along with the establishment and improvement of the system of socialist market economy in China,the market-oriented pace of the rural economy has been accelerated.The market plays more and more important role in production and trade of agricultural products.Therefore,the government and publics have increasingly more demand for the information on the prices of agricultural products.In order to fit in with this situation,Department of Rural Surveys National Bureau of Statistics has been carrying out surveys on the prices of agricultural products to monitor the movement of the related prices and to maintain the agricultural accounting system,through its survey teams locating all over the country since 2003.The purpose of this book is to provide the price information of agricultural products to government agencies at various level,the research institutions,agricultural holdings as well as other publics for the decision-making and analyzing the supply and demand relations of the agricultural products,the market competition of agricultural products and the agricultural restructure,the farmers income and resident consumption,etc. Ⅱ.Contents and Methodology The contents of this book include:the chart of price movement of agricultural products,the producer price indices of agricultural products,the prices of agricultural products at the rural market fairs.The producer price of the agricultural product is the price of the unit product,at which the producer of the agricultural product,i.e.the agricultural household or the farm,directly sells the product.The producer prices of agricultural products are the bases of the prices of the agricultural products at the rural market fairs as well as the wholesale prices and consumer prices.National Producer Prices Survey of agricultural products is a sample survey with its sample units selected with random sampling method.A total of 20000 units engaged in agricultural production have been selected in the whole country,in which the agricultural households account for one third and the farms account for two thirds.The survey covers 180 representative agricultural products in four categories of farming,forestry,livestock and fishery.Survey of Agricultural Products Prices at Rural Market Fairs is a survey on the prices of 31 agricultural products in 200 major producing counties and cities conducted for reflecting the trading prices of the staple agricultural products in the major producing areas and the change of these prices. Ⅲ.Additional Notes While mainly presenting the survey data on the prices of agricultural products in 2020,this book also releases the series data on the prices of main agricultural products in China since 2000(The country’s aggregated data excludes Tibet,Hokong Special Administrative Region,Macao Special Administrative Region and Taiwan Province).The producer price indices take the prices in the preceding year or the prices at the same period of preceding year as 100.The unit of the prices of agricultural products at rural market fairs is unified to be Yuan/kg and two decimals are kept for the price data.In order to better reflect the change of the prices of agricultural products in China,we will periodically publish the China Yearbook of Agricultural Price Survey.Limit to our experiences and knowledge,some slips are inevitable in the book.We warmly welcome the comments or suggestion from our readers.

This publication is composed of 4 parts.Part One consists of charts and tables representing key results of population censuses since 1953.Part Two contains 16 tables illustrating major figures,by province,on various distributions and compositions of the population.Part Three edits Communique of the Seventh National Population Census(No.1-8),which contains Basic Situation of the Seventh National Population Census,Basic Information of the National Population,Population by Region,Sex Composition,Age Composition,Educational Attainment,Urban and Rural Population and Floating Population,Residents from Hong Kong,Macao and Taiwan and Foreigners Registered for the census.Part Four is appendix.This publication contains the initial results from the 2020 population census.More detailed results will be published when data processing is completed. Following explanations are given to facilitate the use of this publication. 1.The population census covers all natural persons residing in the territory of the People’s Republic of China and the Chinese citizens residing outside but not permanently settled down in locations beyond the territory of the People’s Republic of China at the census reference time,excluding foreigners temporarily staying in the territory of the People’s Republic of China. 2.The reference time for the census was zero hour on November 1,2020.Data for the 2020 population census referred to the permanent population at the reference time. 3.The post-enumeration survey conducted after the census enumeration indicated a 0.05% undercount of the total population. 4.The total population of China includes the population of 31 provinces,autonomous regions and municipalities directly under the central government and servicemen of the Chinese mainland and the population of Hong Kong Special Administrative Region,Macao Special Administrative Region and Taiwan.The national population refers to the population of the 31 provinces,autonomous regions and municipalities directly under the central government and servicemen of the Chinese mainland,excluding residents of Hong Kong,Macao and Taiwan and foreigners living in the 31 provinces,autonomous regions and municipalities directly under the central government.The figures by province do not include servicemen. 5.Statistical discrepancies on totals and relative figures due to rounding are not adjusted in the publication. China-Arab states’ relations are an important part of the comprehensive diplomatic policies of China.On June 5,2014,Chinese President Xi Jinping addressed the Sixth Ministerial Level Conference of the China-Arab States Cooperation Forum,during which he proposed that China and Arab countries should deepen all-round cooperation and develop a China-Arab strategic cooperative relationship,taking advantage of new opportunities of co-constructing the Silk Road Economic Belt and the 21st century oceanic Silk Road in the coming decade.All concerned parties would strive to build a community of common interests and a destiny based on the principles of cooperation and sharing. This parallel development in addition to “The Belt and Road Initiative”,the China-Arab States Expo(“the Expo” hereafter) is facing a significant strategic opportunity.The party committee and government of Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region are more aware of the strategic positioning of the Expo,which serves as a platform on which high-level dialogue,policy exchanges,trade and economic cooperation as well as humanitarian exchanges are conducted.It also serves as a pivot of the strategic Silk Road Economic Belt.From this perspective,the Expo is expected to play an even bigger role in the all-round exchanges among the countries along the belt. Co-construction of “the Belt and Road” is consistent with the trends of the time and is in the best interests of the people of China and of the Arab states.With the flee flow of economic factors,and efficient allocation of resources,as well as the deep integration of markets,the Arab states will have a bigger chance of gaining diverse,balanced,sustainable,development.China has also proposed the establishment of the Asian Infrastructure Development Bank,with an authorized stock capital of $100 billion.In addition,China set up aSilk Road Fund using $40 billion to fund the infrastructure development in Asia and the Belt and Road Initiative. The Chinese government is encouraging companies and corporations to invest in Arab states’ energy,petrochemical,agricultural,manufacturing and service industries to support the employment,industrialization,and economic development of all the countries concerned.In the coming decade,China-Arab region bilateral trade is expected to grow to $600 billion and China’s financial investment stock to Arab countries is likely to surpass $60 billion.China and Arab countries are joining hands in constructing the Belt and Road Initiative,and their strategic,cooperative,relations will constantly be elevated to higher levels. In focusing on research of China and Arab region’s trade and economic ties,this report systematically analyses the regional situation of the Middle East,dependencies on China-Arab region trade,China-Arab region trade structures,and dependencies on China-Arab region investments.It also discusses critical issues such as the bilateral trade in services,bilateral agricultural and food trade,the development of Islamic finance,and the internationalization of the RMB.It is hoped that the analyses found within this piece will serve as an important reference to our readers. The vision of “the Belt and Road Initiative” is becoming abundantly clear.The people of China and of the Arab states are expected to gain more development opportunities thanks to the implementation of this strategy.As an important cooperative mechanism,the Expo is expected to attract more participants with insights to promote the trade and economic relations of China and Arab states as well as share the benefits of China-Arab region’s cooperation.In the meantime,it is sincerely hoped that readers will have informative and productive exchanges that will allow more refinement and,as a finished product,an even better report in the future.
